LVMH has announced the shortlist for its Young Fashion Designer Prize. After going through a pool of nearly 1,000 designers, LVMH has narrowed down its picks to 26, and you may recognize a few names. In addition to labels like Agi & Sam, Marques Almeida and Jacquemus, we find Off-White, the haute streetwear brand designed by Virgil Abloh, one of Kanye West’s creative partners-in-crime.
Almeida and Craig Green will have their second turn in the competition this year, and will be judged along with the 24 other labels by LVMH bigwigs, including Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Jonathan Anderson, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Nicolas Ghesquière, Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci, Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie and Pierre-Yves Roussel. Before they face this panel of esteemed judges, a group of 45 influential members of the fashion set (including Emmanuelle Alt, Tim Blanks, Patrick Demarchelier, Linda Fargo, Cathy Horyn, Pat McGrath and more) will narrow down the list to 8 finalists. The overall winner will be announced in May.
