Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea Take Swipes at Each Other Over ‘Pretty Girls’ Flop

Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears‘ “Pretty Girls” film clip may have over 78 million views on YouTube, but that hasn’t translated to a good ranking on the music charts. The song has only hit number 29 on Billboard’s Hottest 100 since it was released in May, and now the pair are getting a little shady with one another, publicly.

It all started when Twitter user @rhuancesarr tweeted that the tune “flopped a little bit”, to which Iggy responded, “Its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured…”

It wasn’t long before Britney’s fans took offence to Iggy’s suggestive comment, which could be interpreted as Iggy blaming Birtney and her promotional team for the song flop, if you will. Iggy defended her opinion, tweeting, “I don’t have to suck the womans asshole 24/7 to be her friend, do i?”, but it seems Britney herself might’ve taken some offence to Iggy’s comments.

“Can’t wait to get back to Vegas,” Britney tweeted within 24 hours of the original ordeal going down. “So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to… #YouWantAPieceOfMe.”

This could just be Britney’s own pride seeping through to her social media. But, considering Iggy cancelled her US arena tour recently because of a “creative change of heart”, it could easily fit into shade-throwing territory.

The hashtag really polished off what was probably a big ol’ dig, and it really was the perfect timing to be considered a response to Iggy. Besides, all we can hear in the back of our heads is a resounding, “It’s Britney, bitch”, and the confirmation that one should never mess with the 90s queen.
