Good news, Brisbanians. You’re finally catching up with the Sydney-siders and Melbournians, because Uniqlo is extending its offering to Queensland this Summer with two brand new stores.
The Japanese retailer announced the news on Facebook this morning, explaining that Queensland’s first-ever Uniqlo stores will open at Indooroopilly and Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall.
Ragtrader reports that Queen Street Mall will span over 2054sqm and Indoorooply at 489sqm, with the two stores aiming to generate around 200 jobs in the retail sector.
Uniqlo Australia CEO Shoichi Miyasaka told Ragtrader, “Since opening our first store in Melbourne last year, UNIQLO has gained a huge following across the country, with shoppers eager to experience our functional, affordable clothing.”
Shoichi continued, “Queensland was the next logical step for us in Australia, with our wide range of every-day products and innovative fabric technology suitable for the versatile lifestyles of those in the sunshine state.”
Australia is Uniqlo’s 16th international destination, and, once the new Brisbane stores have opened, the retailer will have nine stores down under.
