The Givenchy fashion show is a hot ticket no matter what the season, but this month, the show is going to be bigger than ever. The French fashion house is showing its Spring 2016 collection during New York Fashion Week and it turns out, everyone is invited – and we mean everyone. In addition to the usual crowd of journalists, buyers, editors and celebrities, Givenchy is inviting 1200 “regular people” to this year’s show, which has us going from excited to welcome Givenchy to NYC to absolutely terrified.
The show is set to take place on September 11 and the house is releasing 820 tickets on a first come first serve basis to the public at givenchynyfw15.com. The tickets will be up for grabs starting 10 a.m. on Wednesday. There will be 280 tickets set aside for NYC fashion school students and faculty, and 100 tickets will go to neighbors of the soon-to-be revealed venue, probably as a thank you for putting up with all the commotion.
Needless to say, it sounds like the show is going to be a veritable zoo. Combine the Givenchy name and popularity with the possibility of a Kimye sighting, tired editors and the mass of people just excited to be at a fashion show and you’ve got a recipe for confusion.
