Balmain x H&M Dress, $649
Sure the prices are affordable in relation to actual Balmain but compared to previous H&M designer collaborations, they’re pretty steep. Alexander Wang for H&M ranged from $10 to $350; Lanvin for H&M retailed for $39.95 to $349 and Maison Martin Margiela for H&M clocked in at $12.95 to $399. Why the sudden uptick in prices?
Balmain x H&M Jacket, $499
Though the H&M line will lack Balmain’s signature luxe fabrics and impeccable construction, the designs are a carbon copy of pieces seen on the runway. H&M is betting we’d pay up to $600 for the same embellished jackets, waist belts and sequin dresses we Insta-stalked all year. And Balmainia will reach a fever pitch with a runway show tonight, including a performance by a surprise pop star and a dance-off between Kendall and Jourdan Dunn. Surely fans will tune in on Periscope (starting at 7:30 p.m. EST), relentlessly troll the hashtag on Instagram and line up to buy the same dress [enter celebrity here] had on, right?
Balmain x H&M pants, $399
