If you had to guess the most searched hair trend of 2015, you might say bronde hair color or natural hair. Surprisingly, the answer has little to do with women’s beauty at all. Another shocker? Women aren’t necessarily doing the searching. The most popular queries are “how to grow a man bun” and “how to tie a man bun.” Who knew men spend their down time researching how to style their strands? In fact, Google says “there has been more interest in men’s hair than women’s hair on Google (by around 6%).” No one saw that coming.

The most searched women’s hair trends were braids (namely, box braids and goddess braids) and hair color trends (silver and gray hair were the top-trending hues). The only thing more surprising than the most searched hair trend is the second: comb-overs (but not the Donald Trump kind).
