Miranda Kerr’s nude January 2016 cover for Harper’s Bazaar Australia has been pulled from Coles shelves as it was deemed inappropriate for customers.
The cover shows off the Aussie supermodel’s assets as she leans back on a balcony wearing nothing but designer heels, with Yahoo7 Lifestyle believing that it was removed from the grocery store’s stands because of internal criticism. “We didn’t think the cover was appropriate for our stores so the decision was made,” a Coles spokesman told the publication.
Honestly, we’re not totally surprised. Coles reels in customers of all ages and relationship statuses, plus, people can be especially on-edge this time of year and might find the image offensive. Not everyone, but some.

Harper’s Bazaar Australia editor Kellie Hush is displeased with Coles’ decision and has otherwise received a positive reaction to the cover internationally. “I was really disappointed to hear Coles made the decision to pull the Miranda Kerr issue off shelves,” she said. “The cover is a beautiful artistic image taken by one of Australia’s best photographer’s Steven Chee and I stand by that.”
She continued, ”I have had so much positive feedback from around the globe, it is a shame Coles does not also recognise the artistic integrity of this image. As Gloria Steinem says: ‘The human body is not obscene.’ “
MK herself has not commented on Coles’ decision, but, with the supermodel down under for the holiday season, we think she’ll be doing her Christmas stock-up at Woolworths.
