Fashion designer Eileen Fisher is known for her comfortable, classic knits while Public School New York (PSYNY) founders Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow lean more toward streetwear. Despite the polarity of their styles, the designers share a vision for a more sustainable and eco-friendly industry. Fisher is known for her sustainable practices and program called Renew. She also has an upcycling factory, which inspired Osborne and Chow to start a zero-waste collaboration with the designer.
“This is one of the most important collaborations we’ve worked on in terms of providing visibility and awareness around a critical issue — sustainability within our industry,” Chow told WWD. “This is the first step for our brand toward implementing sustainable standards into our own practices. Eileen has been such an amazing leader in the sustainable space so we’re really fortunate to be able to work and learn from her and her team,” added Osborne.

The collection features a pant, top, hat and sweater, each with a cap of around 150 or fewer in stock, all made from recycled clothes. The Harlem Denim Pant uses two shades of reclaimed denim with side snaps. The Hastings Silk Top is made of Renew silks.

The collection is exclusively available at the Making Space store in Brooklyn, New York. The Riverdale Felted Cap is the only piece that is also available online in Public School’s website.
