The glorious world of Vogue descended on London last night, on the eve of London Fashion Week, to deliver us the British capital’s answer to the Met Gala in the form of Vogue World: London.
Now in its second year, following the inaugural event last year which took place in New York slap-bang in the middle of NYFW to celebrate the Condé Nast fashion bible’s landmark 130th anniversary. The one-night event masterminded by Anna Wintour was held to benefit performing arts organizations across the city including The National Theatre, the Royal Opera House, the Rambert dance company and The Royal Ballet. The dazzling multi-act celebration was held at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, one of the most beloved theaters located in the heart of Covent Garden and boasted appearances from opera singers, ballerinas, supermodels and fashion designers, all orchestrated by The British Academy of Film and Television Arts and director Stephen Daldry, and led ultimately by Vogue. The all-star lineup of models who sashayed around the theater decked out in fabulous designer creations included Kate Moss, Vittoria Ceretti, Ashley Graham, Karen Elson (plus many MANY more) and just as Annie Lennox had the A-list crowd hyped belting out a mashup of her greatest hits, supermodel sensations Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista made a spine-tingling appearance which made for a show-stopping finale.
