Cate Blanchett Sports Ellen Hodakova Larsson Spoon Outfit at TIFF

When weird meets glam, they call it fashion! Cate Blanchett is proving just that at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. The Australian-American actress has brought kitchen utensils back on the red carpet. Blanchett arrived at the 2024 TIFF for the premiere of the upcoming thriller “Disclaimer.” She donned an outfit that featured spoons. Yes, that’s right, spoons. Let’s take a look at the unique outfit!

Cate Blanchett rocked the spoon outfit at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of Apple TV+’s “Disclaimer.” The “Cinderella” star donned a striking black suit, with spoons being used as embellishments on the jacket’s bottom hem. Several utensils were added in a way, all around on top of one another, to make a jiggling sound while moving. Blanchett completed the look with black pump stilettos.

This is the second time Blanchett has worn an outfit featuring spoons. Last month, the actress sported a halter top made of spoons at the “Borderlands” special Los Angeles fan event. Following her appearance at the 2024 TIFF, several fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the return of the spoons on the red carpet.

The design is by Swedish fashion designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson. She reportedly got the spoons from her hometown in Stockholm. The designer is an advocate for sustainability in fashion, and was the recent recipient of the LVMH prize. Moreover, Blanchett is well-known for repeating her red carpet outfits. Time and again, the “Carol” actress has proven her commitment to sustainability.

In an interview with Business of Fashion, Blanchett said that “the idea of re-wearing” clothes “should be completely unremarkable” as “we do it in our daily lives.”
