Forum members were pleased with the first look at the campaign. “What a beauty Charlotte is. I love the styling, and the photography is gorgeous as well,” HeatherAnne commented.
“Wow. This is so tastefully done!!!” congacon expressed surprise, perhaps forgetting that Gucci existed in a time before Tom Ford made it a symbol of overt sexuality.
“I love it,” posted Alien Sex Friend. “Love the mood, love the colors, love her relaxed handsome face… [the] ads themselves just scream aristocracy and modesty.”
Wolkfolk liked “the vintage feeling” of the ads which somehow simultaneously feel fresh.
This seems like a good time for a nostalgic ad campaign, when everyone seems to be longing for “the good old days” and embracing classic pieces without a distinct time stamp. Who wants to spend thousands on this season’s “it” bag when they carry something classic that looks “forever now” as Gucci would say?
