Even if the cover lacks the “wow” factor that some forum members were expecting, the fact that Dutch Vogue exists in the first place is still enough to sustain their excitement. “I kinda like it,” Mr-Dale admitted. “But probably mostly for the fact that it’s the first issue of Vogue Netherlands. It’s happy and upbeat, but I would have appreciated a more international appeal as well. They definitely struck the Dutch identity though, as it’s all very gezellig,” he noted, referring to the Dutch word (with no English equivalent) that encompasses the heart of Dutch culture and roughly translates as description of something cozy, quaint, or nice, but can also refer to time spent with loved ones, a reunion with a friend, or general togetherness. That seems appropriate for the inaugural issue of Dutch Vogue, doesn’t it?
