2013 has been a fairly quiet year for model Arizona Muse, whose staggering amount of prestigious work in 2011 and 2012 was possibly record-breaking. The December 2013 cover of Australian Vogue is only her second Vogue cover this year after the one for Vogue China in March. It’s not unlikely the decreased workload in her case is voluntary, given that Muse has a highly remunerated Estée Lauder contract (and even has the latest fragrance, ‘Modern Muse’, named after her) and is the star of the Louis Vuitton ‘L’Art En Voyage’ films. Nonetheless, it is a welcome surprise to see her back on Vogue. In a dreamy image shot by Nathaniel Goldberg, Arizona is seen wearing a Prada Resort dress. TFS forum members agreed that this cover was a success.
“It’s so nice to see models on covers again. Vogue Australia is doing a great job balancing their covers between models and celebrities, in my opinion. Even better that it’s Arizona!” posted charlieandmarie.
“I think this is a terrific cover, Arizona looks fantastic. The composition is perfection, love the text placement and the colours used. The whole cover just flows – love it,” vogue28 shared.
The cover is definitely a massive upgrade from last month’s cover, and in my opinion it’s miles better than any other Vogue Australia cover this year (see every Vogue Australia 2013 cover here).
Forum member anlabe32 perfectly summed up my feelings about this cover. She wrote, “There are several Arizona covers that I truly love, but this one might be on top. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The colors, the Prada, the hair, Arizona’s face. What a great way to end the year, with one of the best covers of 2013 all around, if I may say so.”
