It’s hard to believe that 2016 is coming to an end (at least in the world of magazines) with the December issues already being unveiled. First came Gigi Hadid‘s ultra-glamorous Vogue Japan cover and now British Vogue unveils its festive offering to close out the year. Giving Lily-Rose Depp the honors, UK Vogue‘s latest marks the girl-of-the-moment’s debut as a Vogue cover subject and she certainly proves her worth in the enchanting shot. Photographed by Bruce Weber, the Chanel ambassador unsurprisingly wears the French label as she reclines on a plush sofa, looking a little partied out from the festivities.

Not all of our forum members were in the mood for partying, however. “I feel I might be the only one but I really like this cover. I like the vibe of it. She looks like a princess. Great styling and colors,” approved Oxymore the second the cover dropped over the weekend.
“It’s quite a festive cover so kudos for that,” said anlabe32.
Also impressed with how things turned out was TeeVanity, confessing, “Wow, her first Vogue cover and I actually don’t dislike it.”
Miss Dalloway felt the same way. “Expected to really dislike this, but it’s gorgeous and dreamy for December. Almost [Christian] Lacroix-esque – and how I miss that man! Also how lovely to see Bruce shooting the cover of UK Vogue!” she admired.
“I wanted a feeling of celebration for the December cover, and if a moody teenager lounging on a baroque sofa is the closest I’m going to get from UK Vogue, I’ll go with it. But it’ll take more than a couple of velvet cushions to truly make me feel the glamour, dream, thrill or dazzle,” complained tigerrogue, as everyone else began to chime in.
“Take away the styling and she looks like she is home sick from school with a stomach bug. Not to mention her awkward hand placement,” mocked HeatherAnne.
KateTheGreatest wasn’t all too thrilled either, ranting: “I fail to see how lying on the couch is festive and appropriate for December. Her expression isn’t exciting either and neither is all the blue color. This is really depressing.”
