Revlon Scores Six Diverse New Brand Ambassadors for 2018

Every major fashion and cosmetics brand has a legion of brand ambassadors, from L’Oréal to Christian Dior to Chanel to CoverGirl. Now, Revlon has just secured a handful of diverse brand ambassadors for 2018. Scoring Achok Majak, Raquel Zimmermann, Ashley Graham, Imaan Hammam, Adwoa Aboah and Rina Fukushi, the New York-based cosmetic giant has put its six new faces to work immediately as they star in the new “Live Boldy” campaign for Spring 2018. Shot on location in London, the girls proudly take to the sidewalks and show off their confidence and individuality for photographer Cass Bird, while they lip sync to Dua Lipa’s Blow Your Mind for the commercial (after the jump).

Our forum members were quick to react to Revlon’s new cast. “Wonderful! Such a great and diverse cast. Love how Imaan is front and center in this shot!” praised mikel.

“Gorgeous group of women,” commented zoom.

“The cast!!! Yay for Raquel, Imaan and Achok. Well deserved,” thatsfierce wrote.

Expressing the same enthusiasm toward the casting was Armani. “A D O R E this cast. Yes!” he proclaimed, with forum member panthereose echoing, “Beautiful, and love the cast they’ve chosen.”

But not everyone was quick to jump on board with Revlon’s new signings. “It’s like the brand is trying so hard to tell people they’re diversified. Everything is political now,” said chanel.

“What was supposed to be stellar based on the cast ended up a poor man’s L’Oréal x Balmain. The styling looks cheesy and high street. And Adwoa should’ve been left out,” said an underwhelmed Benn98.

“Just makes me nostalgic for Revlon’s Most Unforgettable Women campaign from the 80s and 90s shot by [Richard] Avedon. Those were truly iconic pics with beautiful models, rich and luxe. This pic is rather pedestrian,” described woemwoem.

Tigerrouge felt the same way, replying, “I couldn’t describe it better. Those ads had such an impact on me that I’m able to remember them decades after they first appeared. A cast like this given the same treatment? It would have been a new era of ‘unforgettable women’. As it stands, I probably won’t remember this image come this September!”
