Your local newsstands are about to be a whole lot more diverse this month, with British Vogue leading the way and Vogue Italia following suit with its cover for April 2018. Following a bland and minimalist Remington Williams offering last month, Adut Akech becomes the magazine’s new cover girl (also currently on British Vogue‘s diversity cover), captured by photographic duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. The Sudanese beauty, who continues to climb the ranks of the modeling world, is joined by Birgit Kos and Amandine Renard, who appear on the foldout pages of the cover, each wearing Chanel teamed with a pair of white Jimmy Choo boots. Adut is the first model of color to front the Italian fashion bible since Alicia Burke in November 2016.
Our forum members couldn’t wait to sound off on the cover. “Literally SCREAMED when I saw the title but this is a big meh. I was expecting something more over the top, when they’re at their best. But I’m happy for all of the girls. They deserved it,” credited helmutnotdead.
“I’m so happy for Adut! She is such a great girl, her beauty is astonishing. I wish the cover was better though,” added apple.
“Adut is on a roll, she deserves it!” gunsnroses applauded.

Sharing the same level of enthusiasm toward Adut’s presence was Scouting Snapper: “Adut is something else. I mean this is just the start for her, and Birgit doing her thing quietly like she always does, I love these covers! My ladies are flourishing at a high level in this game, I must say. The future is looking extraordinarily exciting from my perspective.”
“Gorgeous cover with Adut, glad to hear she got the main cover, because it’s a stand out,” Miss Dalloway declared.
“Adut is what elevates this cover from average/mediocre to something actually likable with a bit of charm. She’s a delight,” expressed boleyns.
