At the rate Vogue Japan has been going, we half expected to see another cover featuring the Hadid sisters this month (Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid each appeared on the last two consecutive issues). Instead, the magazine awards Lexi Boling her very first cover, after featuring the American model on two previous covers alongside her peers. Photographed by regular Vogue Japan contributor Giampaolo Sgura, the Steven Meisel favorite and current face of Prada channels her inner 60s mod girl in the retro cover image, decked out in Bottega Veneta styled by Anna Dello Russo.
Lexi’s first solo outing on Vogue Japan seemed like a gift to our forum members. “Ugh stunning!! Very chic,” said MON the moment the cover struck.
“Lovely to see her back!” applauded forum member ivano.
“Finally a return to form… the classic Vogue Japan cover!” magsaddict approved at once.
Sharing the same enthusiasm was a delighted 333101: “Ow, I quite like this, reminds me of covers from the 2000s!”

Benn98 seemed to approve of the cover too, commenting, “Not what I expected considering the model. There’s something very accessible about this shot. Makeup is a bit much, but Lexi looks fine.”
Malaya also noticed the makeup: “Makeup sort of ruins it for me but good thing she has such a strong and gorgeous face that it still pulled through.”
“I feel like I’ve seen Lexi look like this a thousand times already,” complained Nomar.
“They seem to give her this kind of hairstyle if they want her to serve glamour instead of grunge. The result is always good though,” russianelf replied.
