It’s almost hard to believe Nicki Minaj has never been on the cover of Vogue before, but leave it to a diverse and risk-taking magazine like Vogue Arabia to be the first to feature the Trinidadian-American rapper. We guess it’s better late than never as Nicki scores the title’s September 2018 issue, fronting two covers photographed by Emma Summerton and styled by Anna Katsanis. Following her July American ELLE cover, Minaj stands confident and strong in cover one (below) wearing a dramatic Christian Siriano creation, while in the alternative cover (after the jump) she makes a Marc Jacobs look her own.
The covers left our forums divided. “Vogue Arabia has some of the best covers and content! This is beautiful, I love it!” praised Blayne266 upon checking out the covers.
“Nicki’s first Vogue cover and I am in love, well done Vogue Arabia,” applauded TeeVanity.
“Proud of Vogue Arabia! They’ve been killing their covers this year,” raved an ecstatic bella753.

Also pretty excited was forum member ghostwriter10549. “I fuc*ing LOVE THIS. It’s perfect for Vogue Arabia, for Nicki, for this industry, for September, for this year! It’s been a long time that a celebrity cover makes so much sense in many ways and it’s just not an obvious PR gig,” he voiced.
Unfortunately, not everyone was here for it. “So Nicki Minaj is a style icon now? Last time I checked, she was singing Swallow and shaking her naked butt. Well done, Vogue,” snarked Srdjan.
“Why would anyone in their right mind give this awful woman a Vogue cover? And they wonder why Condé Nast is in the red. They are doing a wonderful job chasing away their core readership,” ranted Les_Sucettes.
“I was excited to see this, as the pairing of Nicki and Vogue Arabia sounded too surreal to me but the results are disappointing. She doesn’t even look like herself,” Royal-Galliano pointed out.
