After last month’s Kylie Jenner cover, Vogue Australia had a whole lot of making up to do, according to our forum members. Thankfully, the Aussie fashion bible delivers for October 2018. This year, the magazine has featured the likes of Kylie Minogue, Gigi Hadid and Katy Perry on the cover, and now Dakota Johnson follows in their footsteps. The American actress doesn’t exactly have the best track record fronting American, British and Spanish editions of Vogue, but that’s all about to change as Australian Vogue finally does Dakota justice, giving her her most gorgeous and luxe cover yet. Photographed by Emma Summerton and styled by Natasha Royt, Dakota looks ravishing in red Gucci while reclining on a bed of crisp white sheets.
Members of our forums were full of praise as soon as the cover broke. “Oh yeah, this is beautiful, and luxe, easily her best Vogue cover. Well done, they needed this win, after such a horrible string of covers this year!” called out Miss Dalloway.
“A very unconventional cover for both Dakota and VA, and it was a risk which paid off. I like how the focus is on the dress and ivory shoes,” Benn98 pointed out.

Sharing the same sentiments was happycanadian. “I love this cover. She looks fantastic!” he wrote.
“This is probably Dakota’s best cover yet — despite being posed, she doesn’t look stiff (unlike her ad for Gucci where she looked like she was about to sneeze in some shots). This shade of red looks beautiful on her lips and dress. The cover reminds me a little of the Vanity Fair covers — perhaps it’s the red and white color scheme?” asked sweetpop.
Ghostwriter10549 also noticed some subtle Vanity Fair comparisons. “This give me Vanity Fair vibes, but I like it,” he confessed.
