Vogue Italia February 2019 : Kendall Jenner by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Kendall Jenner Adds Vogue Italia to Her Long List of Magazine Cover Appearances

Whether you love her or loathe her, there’s simply no knocking Kendall Jenner’s credentials as a working model. In 2018, Kendall was a prominent fixture at the newsstand with covers for Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, American Vogue, Vogue Korea, Vogue Turkey (to name just a few) while starring in various advertising campaigns for mega brands Missoni, Dsquared2, Longchamp and Miu Miu — earning her the spot as the highest-paid model of the year. 2019 is now starting to look just as promising for Kendall as she’s already the brand ambassador for Stuart Weitzman and Roberto Cavalli and now just landed the gig every model dreams of: the cover of Vogue Italia. Photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and styled by Jacob K in Giorgio Armani, Kendall dials up the drama and pays homage to the glory days of great Italian cinema in the 60s.

Our forum members couldn’t wait to share their thoughts. “This would be appropriate for MiLK, Pop, or one of those other hipster fashion magazines, but not Vogue — everything is sad right down to the font,” HeatherAnne said.

“I don’t hate that it’s her. I hate that the pose and whatever M&M asked of her is way out of her league. This kind of shot will rake up the requisite 2/3 million likes on her Instagram, but it doesn’t work for a HF magazine cover,” Benn98 added.

“OH. MY. GOD. This is trash,” expressed phungnam96.

Not everyone was compelled to bash the cover, however. “I love the styling, and the exaggerated pose, but I feel as if it were someone like Vittoria or Mariacarla it would be great. I mean, it’s Vogue Italia, shooting a spread about the golden age of Italian cinema, cast an Italian model,” pointed out AnaD.

“I actually think this is Kendall’s best Vogue cover to date. I mean the styling, hair and makeup are pretty exaggerated but she pulls it off and looks stunning facial wise. Her face to me sells the cover,” defended forum member Zposen.

Blayne266 confessed, “I’m not going to let who is on the cover affect my opinion even if I’m not a fan of Kendall. I actually quite like this cover, it’s something different from Kendall and she’s serving a bit of attitude, which I love. She seems to work best with M&M.”
