Members of our forums haven’t exactly been running down to the newsstand to buy Harper’s Bazaar lately and the mag’s new spring fashion edition won’t break that pattern. Kylie Jenner follows in the footsteps of her sisters (Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner) by becoming a Bazaar cover star for March 2020. Photographed by the Morelli Brothers and styled by Joanna Hillman, Kylie wears a showstopping Valentino creation on the vibrant newsstand cover (below) and channels Marie Antoinette decked out in Dolce & Gabbana for the subscribers’ alternative (after the jump).
The covers sparked debate on our forums. “OMG, this magazine is such a joke,” declared caioherrero.
“OMG, horrible! Can Glenda leave right now? As if the Fashion Nova spokesperson wasn’t enough, Glenda had to get those tacky Morelli Brothers to shoot her? This magazine is the epitome of processed cheese in print form,” proclaimed Benn98.

“I imagine this cover will be popular. It will sell. I’ll probably buy it myself. But will any new editor be permitted to stray from the formula that’s been ‘good enough’ for Hearst for a very long time and take risks with a new approach?” wondered tigerrouge.
Not everyone felt compelled to bash Bazaar‘s latest. “I actually love the Marie Antoinette cover, just by virtue of it being so different for U.S. Bazaar. Not a big Kylie fan, but I almost think her background and baggage actually add something to this particular theme. It’s very camp. If only they were bold enough to switch up their newsstand cover formula,” said KINGofVERSAILLES.
“Actually, the subscribers’ cover is deliciously good! If only Harper’s Bazaar was more tongue-in-cheek like this as opposed to being cheesy and repetitive…” agreed dodencebt.
