Alastair McKimm is busy transforming i-D back into the cutting-edge publication it once was. Just look at last year’s covers starring Teyana Taylor, Adut Akech along with Gigi Hadid. Now comes The Utopia in Dystopia Issue for Spring 2021. We’re treated to lots of covers featuring the likes of Kate Moss and Kaia Gerber, but Naomi Campbell clearly steals the spotlight from the other cover stars. Photographed by Luis Alberto Rodriguez, the supermodel transports us to Kenya decked out in an ostrich feather headdress selected by Carlos Nazario.
Needless to say, Naomi’s cover was love at first sight for our forum members. “This is a stellar cover in my opinion! Naomi is beautiful as ever, a casual nip slip and keep it rather simple. Wonderful!” applauded aracic.
“Naomi’s cover is spectacular! We are finally seeing a departure from her fierce queen persona that almost every magazine played on over the years,” added Benn98.
“I love when Naomi lets her beauty shine and not the fierce Naomi that gets boring after a while,” echoed THD96.

Summer Day obviously shared the same sentiment: “Naomi’s cover is great. She really looks in her element and this is different from the phoned-in Naomi we are expected to get.”
“Naomi carried and saved this issue,” declared FashionMuseDior.
“I’m the first one to rave about Kate Moss, but that Naomi Campbell cover is breathtakingly beautiful. What a gorgeous, GORGEOUS editorial to accompany it, too, utterly flawless and perfectly executed from all parties involved. I might just have to get myself a copy!” raved an absolutely thrilled vogue28.
