We are absolutely living for Steven Meisel as Louis Vuitton’s campaign photographer. Despite an obviously rocky start, the legendary lensman is clearly picking up steam. His latest offering? A series of ads capturing Vuitton’s Capucines handbags alongside Léa Seydoux. The campaign channels Douglas Kirkland’s iconic Marilyn Monroe photographs with Léa posing in bed sporting minimal makeup.
Our forum members fell in love. “She looks great, even if I’m tired with the Marilyn Monroe looks. I like Marie-Amelie Sauvé’s ‘minimal’ styling here, she should try it more,” admires THD96.
“I am officially here for Louis Vuitton campaigns being photographed by Steven Meisel,” points out a definitely impressed vogue28.

“More Meisel at Vuitton? Count me in! This is my favorite of his campaigns for Nicolas Ghesquière so far…” raves aracic.
“Granted, we’ve all seen the ‘unmade bed’ scene before, but Meisel has turned this into another classic! Simple styling and Léa is exquisite here,” approves justaguy.
Mercredi is also thrilled: “I love it, Steven Meisel x Louis Vuitton is just a dream come true…”
But not everyone digs the outcome. “Some of the shots are good, some not so much…” admits WAVES.
“Pretty but…kind of boring,” Joromana chimed in.
