Vogue Paris September 2021 : Tindi Mar by Mikael Jansson

Tindi Mar Looks Otherworldly on the September 2021 Cover of Vogue Paris

Since replacing Carine Roitfeld at Vogue Paris back in 2011, we’ve come to rely on Emmanuelle Alt to deliver nothing but pure glamour and fashion with the French fashion bible’s front covers. Not even a pandemic can stop Alt from giving us gorgeous covers starring the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid, Mica Argañaraz and Malika Louback last year. Not to mention Anna Ewers, Hailey Bieber and Imaan Hammam this year. For September 2021, the mag joins every other edition of Vogue celebrating new beginnings by casting newcomer Tindi Mar marking her first Vogue cover appearance. Captured by Mikael Jansson, the Mexican beauty looks striking in the colorful cover image covered in body art painted by Johannes Stötter.

Many of our forum members have lukewarm feelings about the outcome. “I’m happy for Tindi Mar, she’s absolutely gorgeous, but I’m not sure about this image,” commented WinstonH20.

“It’s giving me 1999-2000 Audrey Marnay vibes and although I wish her expression was a bit different, I do like this. Tindi is gorgeous and to have a Mexican model on the cover of Vogue Paris is huge to me,” approved marsnoop2.

“I’m also quite fond of this, it’s giving me very late 90s vibes. I feel like the colors will look beautiful in glossy print…” noted aracic.

Xone agreed: “Love it…it’s not the usual offering, but I’ll take it. I love the 90s vibes…”

“The cover transports me back to Joan Juliet Buck’s tenure, which I certainly don’t mind and I can imagine those colors and the graphic layout will allow the cover to sing on newsstands,” proclaimed vogue28.

“Very 1998 and I like it!” declared Scotty.

“I somehow like it as a cover, but at the same time it looks like something the people from Netflix’s Glow Up would do. It’s more on the beauty side instead of fashion and that’s alarming,” perhydrol pointed out.
