We just love when our favorite fashion glossies favor fresh and exciting cover stars. At British Harper’s Bazaar, Lydia Slater continues to give the magazine’s front cover to subjects who’ve never graced the publication before (like Lucan Gillespie, Iman, Vanessa Kirby, Constance Jablonski and Francesca Hayward). The publication’s latest accomplishment is scoring Phoebe Dynevor for the November 2021 issue, which coincides with the actress’ role of iconic English ceramic artist Clarice Cliff in the upcoming drama The Colour Room. The images were appropriately photographed at London’s The Kiln Rooms by Josh Shinner. For the newsstand cover (below), Phoebe rests on a mantel adorned with pottery wearing Louis Vuitton. She also dons a look from the French fashion house on the subscribers’ alternative (after the jump).
The covers divided our forums. “She looks gorgeous. I like the subscribers’ cover in particular,” approved charles01.
“The art issue, but let’s make it look like her Instagram,” mocked Urban Stylin.
“I find Josh Shinner’s photography extremely weak here. The newsstand cover is just…flat. I believe had Justine Picardie still been at the helm, the direction of the shoot would’ve been our quintessential British Harper’s Bazaar countryside fantasy with the team playing on Phoebe’s Bridgerton role,” voiced vogue28.

LastNight shared the same sentiment: “Bazaar missed a trick not name checking Bridgerton on the cover though, especially as she has a different hair color here than most people are familiar with for her — it’s hard to recognize who it is.”
“I didn’t recognize her at all, had to google who she was and then realized it’s Daphne from Bridgerton. And to be honest, I still can barely recognize her,” admitted [Piece Of Me].
“She’s been hired as a brand ambassador for Charlotte Tilbury and stars in their Christmas campaign so I was expecting these covers to look a little more glamorous rather than someone looking proud of coming out on top in their pottery class,” commented tigerrouge.
