Unfortunately, diversity isn’t always on the agenda for most fashion glossies. Only three out of seven Vogue Germany covers so far this year have featured nonwhite models. Now the German fashion bible selects a glorious portrait of Ugbad Abdi from Vogue‘s shared global fashion story from September for the publication’s November 2021 cover. In the gleeful cover image, the American fashion model, who wears a Kenzo Fall 2021 dress courtesy of Camilla Nickerson, radiates through the lens of photographer Daniel Jackson.
The use of a reprint, however, caught our forum members by surprise. “Looks nice, but sad that this is part of the global editorial from the September issues…” voiced fangora.
“Who asked for the revival of this dreadful editorial? Seeing it over 20 times was more than enough already and it was never that good to begin with. What a disappointment…” declared an unforgiving aracic.
“Boring cover and sad this photo was taken from the global Vogue editorial from September,” echoed VogueGirl8910.

“What a letdown,” said oaklee91.
“Is it really that expensive to keep making original covers?” asked MagFan.
“I think Daniel Jackson is such a boring, unoriginal photographer…” PowerDroid pointed out.
“A crying shame this is what European editions of Vogue have succumbed to, but I did happen to have liked Daniel Jackson’s global story from September so I’m not complaining over the sight of this. This particular shot of Ugbad was begging to become a cover and the end result is bold and inviting enough,” reasoned vogue28.
