Certain fashion brands are synonymous with New York City and Michael Kors is definitely one of them. Not surprising since the label celebrated its 40th anniversary last year with a spectacular Fall 2021 show set right in the heart of New York City along with an accompanying advertising campaign paying homage to the designer’s hometown. Now Michael Kors Collection returns to the Big Apple for its Spring 2022 campaign. Taking us up on the roof of Prospect Tower in Manhattan, Kendall Jenner, styled by Carlos Nazario, is captured by Dutch photographic duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin from day to night.
Ultimately, the campaign proved to be a bit hit or miss. “This feels very dated and undesirable. Are we sure this is Spring 2022 and not Spring 2007?” asked nejtak.
“Back when people bothered to give ad campaigns an expensive gloss, something like Kendall for Kors might have worked. But it’s 2022, where nearly everything is made to look mundane,” voiced tigerrouge.

“America’s Next Top Model called, it wants its photoshoot back,” declared GivenchyHomme.
“You really need a dynamic model like Anja Rubik or Raquel Zimmermann to work a shoot like this, Kendall can’t do it,” Marc10 pointed out.
“Kendall is still around? And suddenly it feels like 2018 again,” commented ah ah.
Although not everyone was unimpressed. “A real shame it’s Kendall Jenner after such a wonderful cast at the show, but I don’t hate this. It’s quintessential Michael Kors, very New York and I like the mixture of day and night setups,” admired vogue28.
“Kendall is only slightly tolerable when shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s OK. I really like the last shot,” mikel chimed in.
