It’s been four years since Riccardo Tisci took over Burberry. Despite numerous coveted collections, Tisci’s advertising campaigns for the historic brand have yet to impress. Not even established names like Danko Steiner, Mark Borthwick, Nick Knight or Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have been successful in creating buzzworthy campaigns. Now photographic duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott returns to capture the Spring 2022 collection. Paula Rudevica, Mona Tougaard, Rianne Van Rompaey, Chisom Okeke, Irina Shayk and more models make up the cast this season posing for the minimalist set of ads.
Members of our forums aren’t feeling it. “It’s a waste of Rianne, Mona and Irina. I can’t believe how bad Riccardo’s Burberry turned out to be and that he’s showing no signs of improvement after all this time. Clothes are consistently atrocious and the campaigns are no better,” proclaimed aracic.
“Why are Riccardo’s Burberry campaigns always so bad? I cannot recall any good campaign under his tenure,” wondered THD96.

“This is so sterile and devoid of any appeal!” WAVES pointed out.
GivenchyHomme was also unimpressed: “Why are all of his campaigns so beige and boring? The clothes were nothing spectacular, but that doesn’t mean it needed an equally drab campaign.”
“The only color he knows is beige,” added Ludwig.
“Beyond sterile and stale and can only agree that Riccardo Tisci’s Burberry advertising campaigns have ALL been underwhelming. Not even Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and this casting can save the end result here from mediocrity!” ranted vogue28.
