As head of editorial content of Vogue France, Eugénie Trochu has been pretty good to use over recent months, in terms of bestowing upon us cover subjects who have never graced the magazine before. Prime examples being Ida Heiner, Chloë Sevigny and Liu Wen. Trochu, however, welcomes back an old French Vogue favorite with the unveiling of the April 2024 edition, as Sophie Marceau becomes cover star – for a fourth time. Almost one whole decade after Marceau’s last, the iconic French actress poses for photographer Quentin de Briey while Jonathan Huguet reports for styling duties. Against a crimson red backdrop, Marceau is dressed in a look from Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring 2024 Louis Vuitton collection for the somewhat questionable cover.

“This is the best they could do?” asked blueorchid.
“Vogue France should never use the same celebrities that were shot before by Vogue Paris! It just shows how mediocre they are even though we already know that,” laughed GivenchyAddict.
“It’s French Vogue but they made her look like an emu bird with that styling,” exclaimed crmsn.
“My least fave Sophie Marceau cover of French Vogue is still May 2014. Nevertheless, this ain’t no better. Amateur photography, horrid styling and I loathe the movement of the hair. What a wasted opportunity when you have a beauty like Marceau at your disposal,” vogue28 cried out.
“ELLE France has much better covers. Hell, even Air France magazine has better,” voiced yslforever.
Oaklee91 declared: “Bring back the sensuality, please!”
