What to Wear
What is my go-to holiday look? A great black sequin blazer! It adds the perfect holiday sparkle, and you can pair it with some leather pants, rolled up boyfriend jeans, a great tank top and boots or sexy stilettos. To pair it with something a little more formal, try a pencil skirt and wear it with a red lip. Keep jewelry to a minimum, maybe some great studs or bracelets, but don’t overdo it. Your sequin blazer is your statement piece.
What to Serve
When deciding on a menu, keep it simple. Have one main dish like carved ham, and make the rest easy finger food appetizers and bite-size desserts. (Be sure to keep in mind vegetarians, vegans and any allergy-prone guests.)
What to Give
I love to give out holiday party gifts, especially gifts with a personal touch. I love to make on-the-go hot cocoa in a jar with marshmallows on top (just add water!), homemade apple butter, or holiday sugar cookies.
Set the Mood
Great lighting is often overlooked when planning a holiday party. I love candles because they create a cozy atmosphere, are relatively inexpensive and when scented it makes my house smell like the holidays.
