Keren Eldad, publisher of Surface Magazine
"I like to think of Neuehouse as the Soho House for working spaces. And if there was any doubt, half the Soho House team came to work here when it opened in July."
-
Check In
"This is the check-in area where visitors sign in. All members have membership cards."
-
Lobby
"The space is stunning. David Rockwell designed it — he writes for Surface, of course."
-
Magazines
"A selection of glossies to flip through while guests wait. You have to be approved before you can work here and it's a very design-focused work environment. Like Soho House, this isn't for bankers or lawyers, you'll find lots of architects, design offices, etc."
-
Communal Space
"The lobby has fantastic event spaces and a bad-ass fully stocked bar. This is where we had our Ian Schrager Design Dialogue and they often have book signings and such down here."
-
Conference Rooms
"There are a number of conference rooms in the lobby that you can book up in advance."
-
Work Stations
"While we have one of the bigger office spaces, there are a lot of members who join Neuehouse as individuals. Anyone can come here and use these, which also works great for networking purposes."
-
Food Options
“They have coffee, tea, danishes, etc. in the lobby and this area turns into a full canteen during lunch hours. They have a huge vegan selection with a bunch of organic things…soba noodles, quinoa, kale…they keep us healthy here, sadly. Thankfully they also stock amazing full-fat cookies that are absolutely delicious."
-
Activities
"Another reason I say it feels a lot like Soho House here is that there are always a ton of activities going on. I particularly enjoyed the 'Member Speed Dating (sans the romance)' event — a great way to meet other members and network; it also doesn't hurt that everyone here is attractive and relatively straight."
-
Books
"Thousands of dollars were spent to curate a selection of reference books and they're spread across all four floors for anyone to use. There's also serious art all over the space and it's all for sale."
-
Communal Space
“This is our fourth floor communal area. I come here with a cup of tea and to read over proposals, etc. It’s also a great place to meet new people. I’ve actually started a few collaborative ventures here. Our floor is great – of course there’s a fantastic design magazine – but we also have a cool new luxury e-commerce site on our floor and a nutrition company, so you’ll always see skinny girls around…you know…tasting kale."
-
Conference
"Our floor has both small conference rooms for intimate or one-on-one meetings, as well as larger ones."
-
Work Stations
"These are some of the individual workspaces that people use. Our bathrooms are also fantastic. We have Aesop soap — fancy soap! Did you know it's $37? I like to think fancy soap encourages hand washing."
-
Cubbies
"Cubbies for quiet phone calls."
-
Downstairs Bar
"Downstairs offers a number of great event spaces. Louis Vuitton had its holiday party here. We have a full bar and catering is available."
-
Screen Windows
"These windows turn into screens. When Stuart Weitzman had its event here, they had videos of Kate Moss projected onto them. You can also host private dinners down here. I'm thinking of having my next birthday here since you can seat up to 30 for a sit-down."
-
Screening Room
"Our screening room...a little more drab than Soho House, but it's a fantastic amenity to have."
-
Communal Space
"The downstairs communal space is filled with original furniture (i.e. good quality!), like the rest of the building."
-
Surface Work Space
"This is our office — one of the biggest in the building."
-
Desk
"I'm pretty much the only one who uses a laptop and I brought my Saint Laurent bag today — I'm going to a Miu Miu event after work and the only Miu Miu bag I have is red...I didn't want to look too summery. How stunning is the invitation? [Next to the iPhone.]"
-
Wall
“I love cats. My co-worker Laurel made that cat sketch for me. I’m not supposed to have things on the wall, but I like to add personality wherever I go.”
