Trip Haenisch is one of the most well-known interior designers working today. In addition to regular spreads in publications like Architectural Digest, ELLE Decor, House Beautiful, Interior Design, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Vogue and W Magazine, he was also named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s 25 most influential Los Angeles based interior designers and is a go-to for celebs, including Courteney Cox and Hank Azaria. Here, he dishes his top five tips for updating your home in less than an hour.
- Remove all the clutter and knickknacks from shelves and tabletops. Less is always more.
- If you have bookshelves, rearrange the books by size and color.
- You can move pieces of furniture around to other areas of the house. Switching out small tables and accessories will instantly freshen up the space.
- Rearrange artwork.
- Move carpets around. If you have a rug that’s halfway under a sofa, you can flip it around, hiding the worn and faded side.
