This Is What the Future of Fashion Looks Like

In a new exhibit bowing at the Netherlands’ Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen this weekend, 50 designers are paying witness to the sign of the times with innovative submissions that mirror the resounding moniker of the show: The Future of Fashion is Now. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, for instance, urged the masses to slow down and tap into their spirituality by way of a Zen garden. On the other hand, designer Pauline van Dongen tapped into the tech wave and created a jacket, nicknamed the “Wearable Solar project,” that charges your phone while you wear it. Handy, right?

All the designs on display, which range from clothing and accessories to installations and videos, will be compiled into a glossy coffee table book that will be up for grabs at the exhibit. The Future of Fashion is Now will run from October 11 to January 18, 2015.
