Barneys New York
Barneys New York has named its holiday display "BAZ DAZZLED" and it’s the result of a collaboration with writer/director/producer Baz Luhrmann, costume designer Catherine Martin and the Barneys New York creative team. The tradition of holiday storytelling is at the center of the collaboration, which showcases a mythical world where classical woodland creatures come to life: A contortionist b-boy elf, a wise old "True Owl," a graffiti-ing squirrel, Celestina the ice princess and Luna and Solar Queens. Until the new year, the displays will feature both live performances and mechanical works in the form of spiral snowflakes by artist Anthony Howe and a larger-than-life gilded owl flapping its wings by Chris Cole.

Macy's
Titled “Santa’s Journey to the Stars,” this year’s display traces the adventures of Alex, a young boy who receives a magical and mystical telescope that enables him to experience Christmas on other planets before landing at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Accompanied by his dog Bella and escorted by Santa Claus, Alex’s otherworldly voyage is shown via countless custom designed toys, handmade elves and an interactive game, all accented by thousands of LED lights.

Lord & Taylor
Given that the department store is celebrating its 100th anniversary, this year’s display is particularly over-the-top. The windows show an opulent mansion covered in snow in a birch-filled forest filled with animals (think mice in the library and cardinals baking cakes).

Bloomingdale's
Bloomingdale’s unveiled an entirely interactive experience via a high-tech Big Apple-inspired display that includes games featuring the Bloomingdale’s holiday “Gift a Bow” mascot along with the opportunity to interact with the windows via social media using #bloomiesgreetings.

Bergdorf Goodman
Titled "Inspired," a different branch of the humanities is featured in each window: Literature, Architecture, Theater, Painting, Dance, Sculpture and Film. Music is represented by a silver-dressed mannequin surrounded by glittering trombones, theater is reflected by a neon Art Deco stage, literature by needlepoint effigies of famous authors, etc. It took about 100 artists nearly a year to complete this year's world famous annual display.
