Not to take away from the Met or the Louvre, perennial must-see destinations, but modern times call for modern museums and organizers have read the memo. Interactive museums, many of which are temporary pop-ups or exhibitions, are popping up all over the world. In line with the growing obsession toward food, many of these are odes to vices like ice cream, candy and pizza. Others pay homage to childhood (and adult) favorites like Snoopy and Hello Kitty. In any case, all of these museums make for uniquely unforgettable experiences that people of all ages (with the exception of one X-rated museum ) can enjoy — and Instagram to their heart’s content. Needless to say stopping at any and all gift shops at these museums is a must!
