Few designers are as beloved as Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz. Not only is he immensely talented, he’s a perpetual red carpet favorite of everyone from Julianne Moore to Maggie Gyllenhaal. Elbaz has managed to make Lanvin bags into cult items, has previously been selected as one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in the world, and can always be counted on for insightful words.
A few days ago at the ACE awards, he remarked, “Some days I feel like a piano: kind of short, always in black and white, always expected to produce music.” In a discussion, Elbaz once defended putting his models in flats at his most recent runway show, saying, “I saw the girls couldn’t walk. I saw the agony in their faces. They were shaking; they looked like alcoholic girls.”
Luckily for Elbaz fans, when it was confirmed a short while ago that he would be the next designer to team with H&M, we’ve been seeing and hearing a lot more of the Casablanca-born designer (he was raised in Israel), via short videos, behind-the-scenes snapshots, and ads for his capsule collection for H&M.
Now, after weeks of anticipation, images of all of the men’s and women’s pieces that make up the Lanvin for H&M collection have finally been released. These include handbags, shoes, and make-up, in addition to a slew of gorgeous ready-to-wear pieces that will surely have fans lining up around the block.
Many of the dresses in the collection clearly reference some of Elbaz’s most iconic looks (notably those incorporating ruffles and his own shoulder pieces), and the handbags and separates similarly tie into the now-signature Lanvin aesthetic.
Hopefully, all of the pieces will fit as beautifully as they photograph.
