Herve Leger bandage dresses are staples at this point – an impressive feat given that the only thing harder than pulling off one of the dresses is effortlessly slipping into or out of one (a person could easily use four hands). It’s near impossible to come across a red carpet or go to a New York hot spot without spotting at least a handful of Herve Leger looks, and the celebrities sitting front row at this season’s show, which ranged from Leigh Lezark to Karolina Kurkova, reflect the surprisingly wide array of women Herve Leger appeals to.
Textured fabrics and contrasting side paneling made for a slimming effect in a few of the short dresses, and some of the more futuristic looks with chains and gold buckle details made for an innovative take on this season’s metallic trend. Max and Lubov Azria stayed fairly classic with their color palette however – beige, nude, sand, black, chocolate brown, and cream – allowing for the major hardware on display to do the talking.
