Anyone who thought that when the Mercedes Benz/Smashbox L.A. Fashion Week partnership fell apart it would mark the end of Fashion Week in the Big Orange was sorely mistaken. Concept Fashion Week has swooped in once again to kick things off in L.A. with a big bang. Much in the way that Miami has been attracting a younger set of influencers to Art Basel thanks to Design Miami, Concept Fashion Week, founded by fashion designer Mike Vensel and downtown L.A. visionary Brady Westwater in 2010, has been luring some of L.A.’s brightest talents by focusing efforts on finding a sponsored venue and working in overdrive when it comes to properly marketing the designers they work with.
