Timo Weiland Spring 2012 Runway Review

The Spring 2012 Timo Weiland collection, co-designed by Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein, marks the brand’s first runway show. Inspired, once again, by an imaginary trip (last season the collection was based on the idea of Gloria Vanderbilt and Keith Richards returning from a trip to colonial India in the 1960s), Spring 2012 was designed to reflect Basquiat going to Hawaii to surf with his downtown city friends. As such, the collection mixed the urban and tailored (think sheer panel, lace-accented white dress and trench coats) with the tropical and relaxed (think red, strapless cropped top and patterned shorts).
