Is Anna Wintour hip hop’s latest muse?
When I’m sitting with Anna, I’m really sitting with Anna / Ain’t a metaphor punchline, I’m really sitting with Anna / Front row at Oscar de la Renta, posture / Ain’t a b*tch that could do it, not even my imposter.
While Nicki’s lyrics are far from revolutionary, @MTV thinks, “It’s kinda cool that @NickiMinaj raps about sitting front row with AnnaWintour:“ Fashion seems to agree with this duo as well. Shortly after the single hit the net, @thecut tweeted, “Listen to @NickiMinaj rap about sitting front row with Anna. Yes, that Anna.”
But Nicki isn’t the only rapper name-dropping the editrix in a song. This past Wednesday, Kanye West dropped his latest single where he sings about dining with Anna Wintour. In “Theraflu”, Kanye raps:
Dinner with Anna Wintour, racin’ wit’ Anja Rubik / I told you ma’fuckers it was more than the music / In the projects one day to Project Runway.
Consider everyone intrigued. What did Kanye and Anna talk about during dinner? Perhaps Ms. Wintour gave Kanye some tips on his fashion career. One can only hope that Kanye will rap about their conversation in his next single. But Anna isn’t the only big name being shown love by the rapper. Recently divorced Kim Kardashian gets a huge love confession too. Fashionista.com tweets, “Kanye West may have had dinner with Anna Wintour, but really wants to dine with Kim Kardashian, according to new song.” The fashion community seems pretty excited about this coupling as Elle tweeted, “Kanye West is totes in love with Kim Kardashian,” while the Hollywood Reported tweeted, “Kim Kardashian, Kayne West Could Be Fashion’s Hot New Power Couple.”
However, not everyone believes in this duo’s love-affair or their celebrity moniker. The New York Time’s @CathyHorynNYT thinks “fake-dating @KimKardashian wouldn’t be the worst idea for Kanye’s fashion career.” Meanwhile InStyle’s EIC Ariel Foxman tweets his editorial concerns regarding the couple’s romantic status: “Are we going to have to see the word ‘Kimye’ in print? Just doesn’t look right to me, as an editor that is.”

Karl apologizes to Adele with a selection of Chanel bags
After putting his foot way too deep into his mouth by calling Adele fat, Karl Lagerfeld has decided to make amends with the multi-Grammy winning singer. @Styleite asks, “Guess how Karl Lagerfeld apologized to Adele?” According to @thecut, “Karl Lagerfeld offered Adele a quilted olive branch in the form of Chanel handbags.” Still, many in the fashion domain, like @thecut, think this gesture might be “too little too late?” While some questioned the apology, this gift prompted several, like @fashionologie, to ask, “Is Adele the next face of Chanel? One can only hope.”

When @Styelist tweeted, “See which model got a major makeover!” they weren’t exaggerating. Former pluz size supermodel Crystal Renn debuted a much much lighter ‘do while on vacation in the Bahamas. Photos of the model enjoying her time in the sun, as well as showing off her new bleached blonde hair and matching eyebrows, surfaced everywhere shortly after being posted on Ford’s website. While several Renn lovers were taken aback by this latest upgrade, some fashion websites took to twitter to show their support; @Fashionista_com tweeted, “@MsCrystalRenn Proves She Can Make Blonde Work.” What do you think?
