Alber Elbaz Uses Non-Model Muses for Lanvin Fall Campaign, Loves Grey Hair
Karlie who? For Lanvin’s Fall 2012 Campaign, it’s all about real people having a real moment. Women’s Wear Daily elaborated tweeting, “Alber Elbaz opted to cast women and men, ranging in age from 18 to 80, instead of models.” Much like everything Elbaz does, his decision to use non-model muses felt genuine and fashionably genius. Here is what Twitter’s finest had to say:

“Alber Elbaz cast real people — not models — in @LanvinOfficial‘s Fall ads.” via Fashionologie
“Alber Elbaz talks us though his new @LANVINofficial campaign – isn’t it gorgeous?” via British Vogue
Elbaz explained his casting decision to British Vogue stating, “I wanted to see people from different age groups, body shapes and personalities wearing Lanvin … That is what Lanvin is all about and represents — we don’t only do clothes for 20-year-old girls. I love to see mature women wearing Lanvin as well. I love wrinkles, I love grey hair.” If you didn’t already have a reason to love Elbaz, well, there you go.
Peter Som Breaks Up with Tommy Hilfiger
Elle confirmed via Twittter that indeed “@Peter_Som ends his consulting role with @TommyHilfiger after five seasons.” Before you get your La Perlas in a twist, they also added, “The split is amicable, not to worry.” The CFDA added on Twitter: “@Peter_Som on @TommyHilfiger: ‘It was a pleasure getting to know him & an honor to work w/ him. He has been a wonderful mentor.’ #memberlove.” If you are wondering, which party made the actual decision to terminate the relationship, always look for Twitter clues. Peter Som tweeted an inspirational quote: “Sunday thought: ‘They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself’ – Andy Warhol.” Coincidental or self-reflective? Either way, as Styleite put it, “Peace out – @Peter_Som leaves @TommyHilfiger after five years.”

The First Major September Cover is Out
Speaking of YSL, The Cut tweeted, “The first major September cover is out! @KarlieKloss fronts Vogue Japan wearing @YSL from Pilati‘s final collection.” Styleite tweeted an image of the striking cover stating, “Check out @karliekloss in a chainmail @YSL dress on the cover of@voguejp.” While most fashion tweets raved that Karlie fiercely showed off Pilati’s design, a certain fashionista begged to differ. Choupette Lagerfeld tweeted, “No offense @VogueJapanNY but I do believe I could’ve rocked a YSL by Pilati chain-mail dress better, harder, & sexier than Karlie Kloss!” So do we Choupette.
