Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 Runway Review

Hits of beige and black punctuated the collection’s rich jewel tones and bands of vintage Venetian lace wove throughout. The best thing about this collection is that the designer managed to keep a smooth, coherent feel to the run of the show while still catering for an incredible breadth of customers. The 25-year-old Shoji fans will be racing towards the sheer trapeze top shown over lace shorts, and the red carpet denizens, or more likely, their stylists, will be calling in the finale gowns in no time. As long as you’re OK with lace, there really is something in this collection for everyone. This abbreviated first day of shows may have felt like an appetizer for the rest of fashion month, but Shoji managed to make us forget about Fashion’s Night Out for a moment and get lost in a world of lace, ikat prints, and tea length gowns.
