It’s the moment we have all been waiting for: Hedi Slimane‘s debut collection for YSL, which has been renamed Saint Laurent Paris, but is still being termed YSL (moving on). If you are wondering if Hedi rocked his first impression or failed, read on and let us know what you think.

Interview magazine tweeted, “Hedi Slimane’s finale at  for . Rock goes West goes French gypsy.” Fashion writer Meenal Mistry added, “YSL so far – Seventies rocker. Lots of very skinny suits, bow blouses and floppy hats…Now softening into Stevie Nicks-ish dresses.  .” Wondering about the tense atmosphere? Vogue has got you covered tweeting, “To say it was a scene laden with speculation and expectation is an understatement at .” Wouldn’t you be a bit nervous if everyone who is anyone showed up at your debut? Nina Garcia tweeted, “Marc and Alber saying hello at the  show. A lot of designers attended. All showing support to Slimane.” You say support, I say critique: potato, potato, right?

Celine’s Crazy Footwear Outrages and Surprises

Sleek minimalism are two words that always pop in my head when I think of Celine in the Phoebe Philo era. However, after seeing her Spring 2013 collection, those words don’t really apply. Why? Let’s talk shoes. “Whoa whoa whoa. Have you SEEN the cray-cray shoes from Celine’s spring show?” tweeted Fashionista.com. How cray? I’m talking fur Birkenstock crazy. In fact, the shoes were so out-there, one might think Phoebe is playing a big ol’ prank on the fashion world. To quote Huffington Post Style, “Celine is getting weird.” The Fashion Spot tweeted, “I’m sorry I cannot get over the Celine shoes this season…Thankfully this season’s Celine clutches made up for the shoe fails.  .” Others took to Twitter to express their anger: “I think the fact that Celine did Mink pumps for Spring is Disgusting. The Fur industry is savage and Barbaric,” tweeted Kelly Cutrone. Yet like everything else in the fashion world, there are always two sides to every coin/fashion show. Here is what the other side had to say: Derek Blasberg tweeted, “ mathematics: Sesame Street + Birkenstocks = Celine’s amazing footwear.”

“One of the best things ever, Karlie Kloss as Boy George,” tweeted Katie Grand. Couldn’t agree more. So why did JPG dress Karlie in tranny-garb? “The  collection is an homage to the pop stars of the Eighties we’re told .” (via British Vogue). Fashionetc.com added, “Only at  does  look like Boy George. The 80s are back!” We think so, too!

As for those other popstars Madonna and Michael Jackson, they were there as well. British Vogue tweeted, “We think  makes a gorgeous Madonna.” Vogue added, “From Madonna to Annie Lennox—’a platinum disc–worthy greatest hits collection’ at  SS13.”
