Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Spring 2013 Runway Review

Inspired by a Brazilian getaway, there were palm tree prints and futuristic touches like oversized ruffled shoulders, along with patches and trim that mimicked exotic leaves for a collection that was — at least for the somewhat adventurous fashion lover — surprisingly wearable.

Motorcycle jackets were particularly great as were sportier pieces (hoodies, casual maxi dresses, cropped at the ankle print trousers…), and the color palette, which spanned the gamut from green, yellow, and blue to white and black, kept things upbeat.

In a season where so many brands like Sonia Rykiel and Moschino seem to have lost their quirky appeal, it’s nice to see that Castelbajac still has it going on!
