Supermodel Megan Gale received an early birthday present – a new, three-year deal with retail giant David Jones.
Just one day before turning 33, the DJs glamour girl and fashion ambassador was told by her loyal employer of the past seven years that they wanted to stick with her for a full decade – and possibly even longer.
Gale said she was “thrilled and excited” about the next three years, which will involve a more corporate role as she starts spending a little less time on the catwalk.
“It’s the best early birthday present I could have asked for,” Gale told Confidential over a lunch at ARIA with fellow DJs darling Miranda Kerr.
“It will take the relationship with David Jones to a full 10 years – and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
David Jones group general manager (marketing) Damian Eales told Confidential that Gale had been a pivotal part of the continued growth of the DJs brand over the past seven years.
“Megan appeals to three generations – younger women, mothers, grandmothers – across the board in all of our market research she is not only seen as the face of Australian fashion but as someone who is both aspirational and attainable,” Eales said.
“No one has represented our brand better over the past seven years than Megan Gale and we wanted to have an ongoing relationship with Megan Gale.”
Eales revealed that Gale would be the face of a joint credit and loyalty card campaign later this year between DJs and banking giant American Express.
“Our customers love her and she will be playing a very special role in that campaign,” he said.
