Not to knock New York, but it's the creative minds of designers like Ashish Gupta that make London so much more fun to watch. Better yet, much of this season's Ashish collection, while not commercial in the way most New York shows are, was wearable.
Fall 2013's street style-inspired lineup included fringe capes and tops, sequin neons, sequin tweeds, loose monochrome trenches, patterned slip dresses (checks and houndstooths), slouchy trousers and denim patchwork, the sum of which wasn't necessarily the most cohesive but had a lot to offer the too-cool-for-school set. Case in point, the most memorable piece, a sequin top with "I'm having a shit day thanks" emblazoned on it.
