Hayley Elsaesser
Rising star Hayley Elsaesser left her studies at QUT such a short time ago she could still be considered a graduate, but the positive response to her graphic eye has already scored her a solo show at Fashion Week Australia. The upcoming collection is called ‘Redneck Nostalgia’; an “homage to good girls gone bad”. The 1950’s, rockabilly and greaser references are there in the form of palm tree prints, California meets Miami pastels, flame motifs and boxy house coats. Hayley’s own dice and beer prints were stand-outs, the latter obviously inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic soup cans only with a redneck twist. Here’s to many more fun Hayley Elsaesser appearances on the fashion week catwalks of the future.
