We don’t know what it was about the 90s that made people want to take their clothes off, but those of us who remember the ad campaigns from the decade know they were pretty sexy. More than sexy — sometimes borderline NSFW. The images we saw in magazines, on the sides of buses and on billboards were enough to make us blush. Even today, after we’ve had nearly a decade and a half of equally scandalous ads, we still can’t forget some of the hottest ones of the 90s.
And how could we? They were literally
that sexy. Take a trip down memory lane with us and see the most boundary-pushing, iconic ads of the 90s. Remember any of these from back in the day?
sexy 90s ads
Calvin Klein Obsession for Men
1993, Kate Moss by Mario Sorrenti : Calvin Klein was notorious in the 90s for its overtly sexy ads. Kate Moss was the brand's main muse back then, and the company photographed her in all states of undress. The risqué ads are some of the brand's most iconic, thanks to Kate's piercing stare.

Cesare Paciotti
Dutch magazine September 1999 by Terry Richardson : Terry Richardson shot a sexy ad? Ya don't say! This 1999 Cesare Paciotti ad is still very sexy, but seems not that risqué compared to Terry's other work.

Dolce & Gabbana
Spring 1991, Linda Evangelista by Steven Meisel : This sexy series was titled "Linda in Love." We guess being in love means a lot of nudity for Ms. Evangelista.

Guess
Claudia Schiffer by Ellen von Unwerth : Guess ' black-and-white ads are a staple of the 90s, and the photographs Ellen von Unwerth took of Claudia Schiffer were so popular back then, Guess brought back both the model and photographer for another go-round for its 30th anniversary.

Versace
Fall 1994, Christy Turlington by Richard Avedon : This set of ads was one of the house's most recognizable, thanks in part to the chiseled, naked male models the brand so kindly added to the mix.

Wonderbra
1994, Eva Herzigova : This ad was voted the most iconic of all time in Britain. And no wonder — when it came out back in 1994, the billboard was blamed for traffic accidents and delays in the U.K., or so says urban myth. But one thing's for sure, Eva Herzigova's boobs could definitely cause a pileup!

Calvin Klein
1992, Mark Wahlberg by Herb Ritts : It doesn't get much more suggestive than a guy holding his crotch.

Anna Molinari
Spring 1996, Milla Jovovich by Juergen Teller : This ad left little to the imagination. If you were a guy (or girl) in the 90s who had a crush on Milla Jovovich, you didn't have to look far to get a glimpse of her goodies.

Versace Jeans Couture
1995, Helena Christensen and Alex Lundqvist by Bruce Weber : Versace had its share of risqué ads, and this one for its Jeans Couture label was no exception. The playful sexuality makes you want to jump into the picture and join Helena and Alex...or, at the very least, buy a pair of jeans.

Donna Karan Hosiery
1991, Donna Karan Hosiery : We're not even sure if the model is wearing actual pantyhose in this one! We guess that's just the magic of Donna Karan hosiery.
