THE MISSES:
Saint Laurent
“His worst collection yet for Saint Laurent. As literal and unsurprising as his past work at the house has been, he’s always been able to somewhat redeem it with a genuine conviction and a certain cool spirit. This, on the other hand, is just so try-hard and flat-out lame. For the first time Slimane seems to be showing his age; this really really looks to me like what an older, out-of-touch person would think that young and cool kids would want to wear.” [Steddycam91]
“At this point they could just fire Slimane and set the brand to run on repeat. This is a low point, already he was retreading rock ‘n’ roll clichés but now he’s just repeating things he did only a season or two ago! Anyone could design a Saint Laurent collection, you’d barely need to do any research! Have some FIDM freshman do it, you might even get a fresh idea if you’re lucky.” [Mutterlein]
“The trashy NYC party girl part of me would wear a lot of this. I don’t think that’s a compliment. Hedi continues to mill out badly tailored junk for one of the most iconic houses in fashion. It’s sad and yet I don’t see it improving.” [freja]

Hermes
“So generic, so drab, so uninteresting… this is going to cause me to day drink before lunchtime.” [HeatherAnne]
“Maybe the weakest debut collection by any designer at Hermes… This is so ‘on trend’ and yet without soul… This is just clothes in expensive materials and it’s just boring. Hermes is very exclusive and we all know the level of quality their products have. I hope she will push it a little more next season.” [Lola701]
“It feels like a lite version of Céline past collections. Nice to wear and mix with other things…but nothing out of this world.” [jeanclaude]

Louis Vuitton
“That was definitely his weakest collection so far (dare I say even from his career)… It all just felt so unremarkable and cheap looking. I would NEVER guess it was LV, let alone designed by Ghesquière. With his debut collection in particular, he managed to walk that perfect line of something simple, wearable but at the same extremely luxurious and desirable. This time he couldn’t even see that line.” [Marc10]
“It’s just so… basic. Tragic that this collection came from him.” [HeatherAnne]
“It was way too commercial for my taste. I liked the more simple route he took at the beginning of his tenure at Vuitton because it showed a wearable, but beautifully designed wardrobe. This is too ordinary.” [dodencebt]
