New York Fashion Week Spring 2018 may be over, but it left behind no shortage of buzz-worthy moments. Highs of the season included It girl Kaia Gerber‘s stunning debut on the runway at Calvin Klein, followed by appearances at Coach, Fenty x Puma, Alexander Wang and finally closing the Marc Jacobs show (and NYFW season). Jonathan Saunders received rave reviews (again) for his triumphant collection for Diane von Furstenberg. Amongst the lows were Tom Ford‘s questionable Dynasty-inspired collection and Oscar de la Renta‘s disappointing showing. Without further ado, here’s a look at all the hits and misses of NYFW Spring 2018, according to our no-holds-barred forum members.

MISS: Marc Jacobs
"Marc is such a slave to a theme. It's as if he's afraid that any meaningful ideas in his clothes might become visible. Or worse, be revealed to not be there at all. Not sure. It's hard to see past all that STUFF. ... He chases trends he does not comprehend. He mixes them with remnants of his own past which are totally incongruent. Unappealing to those who could potentially appreciate one or the other but never both. ... He knows how to make a powerful garment. But...once again...he's missed the marc." [Mutterlein]

"Saunders at DVF is one of the best things happening in fashion right now. He brought some fresh energy to this boring brand based on the wrap dress and expands the vocabulary of DVF. This collection was really good. It's colorful, wearable and modern yet kind of unexpected. I hope it will be a commercial success because it's totally worth it." [perhydrol]

HIT: 3.1 Phillip Lim

MISS: The Row
"Oh wow, this is an odd collection. They put in all their coats and long vests to keep their customers happy, and then added in some dresses to entice..." [AnaD]
"The Row is such a weird brand to me. They have managed to create a whole universe out of those clothes. From the setting to the music and all...It feels very calm and all but for me, it's a kind of loungewear fashion. MISS: Helmut Lang
"This is sad. It's such a flippant mockery of the original aesthetic, and it's so badly executed that it looks like a terrible joke." [AnaD]

"I can't picture anyone I know saying they love this. For coolness, it's moderate. For juvenility, it's not flavorful. For sportswear, it's conservative and restricting. I want to know what I missed out from the story." [Pricciao]
